The Journey to Healing and Harmony:

There’s a moment when everything you’ve built, every connection you’ve made, and every plan you’ve set in motion comes crashing down. For me, that moment came at the intersection of Brexit, the pandemic, and a diagnosis I never saw coming.

I’d worked hard my entire life, grinding in the mines, breaking my back two weeks before the year long strike. So no compensation from the NCB and nothing from the government. Then onto the classrooms of Europe, teaching English, building a career, a community, and a home. I never imagined that one day, I’d be denied the right to live and work in the place I’d come to call home, separated from family and friends by a simple vote I wasn’t allowed to be part of.

Brexit tore me away from the life I knew. Two years of struggle trying to get a visa, and yet, after everything, I found myself stuck in the UK with nothing but a limited income and a rapidly advancing cancer diagnosis. My body was breaking down, my future uncertain, and my world was shrinking.

But in the midst of this chaos, I chose to create. I chose to speak through the one thing that had always been my solace: music. It wasn’t easy. The music industry had changed, no longer driven by passion but by profit, leaving independent artists like me fighting to find space in a landscape that seemed inhospitable. But through the challenges, through the lows, I kept writing, recording, and ultimately, finishing an album that tells the story of my journey, my struggles, and the hope that has kept me going.

This album is my message to you—to those who’ve faced adversity, to those who’ve seen their worlds change in ways they couldn’t control. It’s a reminder that even when life hits hard, there’s still room to create, to express, and to heal. It’s a story about the power of resilience, and about finding light even in the darkest of times.

And to the ones who voted for Brexit, to those who may not realize the full impact of their decision: I want you to know that your actions have consequences. I didn’t get to vote. I didn’t get to have a say in the outcome that has forever altered my life. But I’m not bitter. Instead, I’m asking for a simple way to make amends. Buy my album. Listen to it. Let the music reach you, as it reached me when I was at my lowest.

This album isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us, struggling to make sense of the world around us, searching for a way to heal and move forward.

It’s a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming odds, we have the power to create, to connect, and to find hope. My hope is to be reunited with my children that your vote has denied me. Friends, Countrymen, Brexiteers, lend me your ears.
